- What they say about it
- In some cases, bio-based succinic acid offers desirable, differentiated properties compared to those offered by traditional petroleum-based raw materials. In polyester coating resins, it may be used in combination with aromatic di-functional acids to replace aliphatic acids such as adipic acid. It may also be incorporated into unsaturated polyester resins (UPR’s) and used in combination with other dibasic acids to achieve properties of the cured thermoset resin. When combined with a number of glycols, it offers UPR’s with good reactivity, mechanical and thermal properties, as well as renewable content.
