Fatty-acids are a useful base product for the production of many different industrial materials including cleaning products, lubricants, diesel, and jet fuel. OPXBIO is currently working on a way to produce these chemicals from either sugar feedstock or hydrogen and carbon dioxide generated from biomass, solid waste, industrial off-gas, or natural gas.

Either made through yeast fermentation of sugar feedstock or bacterial processing of CO2 and hydrogen. This latter method uses a more efficient delivery system to make use of the aforementioned gases which are acquired from a wide variety of readily available sources.
